Dr.Namyata Pathak-Gandhi, BAMS, MD (Ayurveda), VSF is a physician trained in Ayurveda and modern medicine in a 8.5 year program in Mumbai, India under the Maharasthra University of Health Sciences. In 2011, she was selected as the youngest and exceptional Vaidya Scientist Fellow (VSF) in a nationwide screen by the Department of AYUSH, Government of India, through Centre of Excellence, Institute of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine, Bengaluru.

Being involved at the clinics for more than 12 years in India with a keen commitment to better care, taught her the inherent strengths and limitations of diverse health solutions. While seeking to better practices of both Ayurveda and mainstream medicine, she was closely mentored by traditional vaidyas and leaders in biomedicine. As an internist treating a myriad of medical conditions, she harmoniously integrates her understanding of the fundamentals of both Ayurveda and  biomedical systems to create a comprehensive health plan for every individual.

Deeper integrative clinical work began when she worked with patients of Parkinson’s Disease which led to documenting Ayurveda’s advantage in tackling the debilitating non motor symptoms of the disease. At Mahatma Gandhi’s institution, Kasturba Health Society, she was the physician anchor of an Integrative program for pre-diabetics, which involved a dynamic team of an endocrinologist, nutritionist, physical therapist and laboratory experts. Here, she created a program of ‘Steps to Swasthya’ for integrative and preventive management of individuals with high cardio-metabolic risk .

She is on the editorial board of international peer reviewed journals, has authored several publications and delivered talks to community, industry, research groups. After shifting a base to the US in mid 2014, she is committed to executing a  vision of AIM Swasthya which encompasses the best approaches for health. 

In the US, she is on the teaching  faculty of Kerala Ayurveda Academy, Chair of the Scientific Committee of Council for Ayurveda Research and a professional member of National Ayurvedic Medical Association.
